At Hockley Design Co, we are proud to be a family owned and operated business. Having spent 20+ years in Hockley Valley, it’s an honour to carry on the rich tradition of furniture making. With roots dating back to the 19th and early 20th centuries, Hockley Valley Ontario, was home to several small furniture-making businesses, including sawmills, cabinet shops, and furniture factories. These businesses utilized local materials and the skills of local craftsmen to produce a wide range of products. The furniture industry in Hockley Valley sadly declined in the mid-20th century as mass-produced furniture became more easily accessible. Today, we hope to rekindle this amazing history of what once was in the valley.

In doing this, we have continued to make a conscious effort to use local materials and skilled craftsmen to produce high-quality, one-of-a-kind furniture that is both functional and beautiful. Our shop has been in operation since 2017 running out of a garage in the heart of Hockley. We had originally started doing steel work, and eventually stepped into the realm of hardwood furniture soon after. Later on in 2021 we relocated our wood/CNC shop to the quaint town of Floradale, Ontario. The home office and steel shop are currently still in Hockley. This has allowed us to grow our operation into a multi faceted business offering a variety of products and services. Although we specialize in custom hardwood furniture, we also offer CNC manufacturing, corporate gifts such as custom charcuterie boards, wireless chargers and much more.
