All outdoor signage is finished with marine grade varnish meaning it is used to seal wood for boats and any other application where the product will be seeing a high volume of weather. We also hand pick all the lumber we use to build these signs to insure they are as dry and blemish free. When wood is too wet and then is sealed with a coat of finish, it very easily can crack due to major spikes in temperature. The industry standard for wood moisture content is 10% and we always make sure we are well below that for any outdoor projects.
